WRONG BELIEF ABOUT POVERTY

WRONG BELIEF ABOUT POVERTY

You are not poor because you were born into a poor family. No, you are poor because you have welcome and gave poverty a space in your life. You must stop putting blame on your family that you are not successful. You are not poor because the society made you poor and unproductive. You are poor because of that single choice you made. Until you made the right and painful decision of stepping out of you comfort zone, you will be deceived by the erroneous choice that has paralyzed your dream of greatness. Proverbs 10:20 says “the tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth”.  Your choice therefore, is a single action that determines how you maximize the greatness of God’s potential in you. My friend Daniel Agim, in his book titled “There is a King in you” reminds me that every one of us has kingship treasure inside of us. But most people have also made their kings a beggar. Kings do not beg. They exercise the kingship dominion.

Poverty is not that you do not have ideas but that you are not creative with your ideas. That is why you are still in poverty. Poverty is not what stops you but how you halt yourself from moving forward. The society does not make you who you are but only help you base on how you present yourself to them. Poverty is not that you have been in one place for too long but that you have refused to move forward after a long time. Poverty is not that those things you need in life are not there but that you have refused to see them with your mind. Poverty does not mean that you have dream enough to see good things but that you have slept too long and wake very late to transform them into reality. You cannot be who you are, live the dream of another man and expect to fulfill your God giving potentials. Living in the shadow of another man is the worst accident of life.

Poverty and wealth are like strangers. These two variables can never dwell in you at a particular time of life. You are influenced by one of them at a particular point of life. You are either poor or rich. You can never be poor and at the same time wealthy. It is a contradiction of life’s reality. Many old persons still make these regretful statements that if they were a young persons today, they would have gain a sense of themselves and even correct so many mistakes of their youths. It is on this ground that youths must stand to their responsibilities.
